In the medieval period Irish people had traditional Irish Gaelic names; one of these for a woman was caol fionn, meaning slender and fair. Nobody outside Ireland would have a name like that until long after the middle ages, when some Irish names became popular in England - but English people had difficulty with the pronunciation and found the spelling totally impossible.

The name was Anglicised to Kaylin, Keylin, Kayla, Kaylee, Kayley and many more English approximations of the original, which have no meaning at all in any language.
