No. She informed on an IRA ambush, and so was an informer. She was probably part of the wider 'anti sinn fein society' of loyalists in Cork at the time. She was taken hostage and could have been released in exchange for a number of IRA prisoners captured at the ambush she gave away. However general strickland executed these men, and thus her fate was sealed. Her religion was of no relevance. The local IRA were not sectarian.
