Hatshepsut became the only woman Pharaoh that has existed. She married her brother to keep royalty going on. When her husband died, her son was still too young to rule. So until he was old enough, Hatshepsut took her husband's place in royalty. She even wore the Pharaoh's crown and beard to show she was able to rule Egypt.
