The surname is the last name of your fiancee. Example: Jack Dawson. When you marry if your name is: Mary Johnson then you will become Mrs. Jack Dawson. In today's modern society and only in some states a bride can keep her maiden name which would be 'Johnson.' If the Bride has a business or is famous she can change her name to: Mrs. Mary Johnson-Dawson. Some brides prefer the latter, but it's confusing and unnecessary unless they are famous.
