The Chickasaws have yet to lose a battle to Europeans, Native American tribes, the American Gorvernment and/or black slave/soldiers from the southeastern area of the US. Having seen the Seminole and several other tribes lose in war to the United States, the Chickasaws decided to sell their land instead of battle with the Army. At the time of the Trail of Tears, the Chickasaws chose to sell their land in the southeast which at one time extended from southern Ohio to northern Mississippi, and from the Miss river east to Tennessee. Thus by selling their land they were able to keep their moto, "Unconquered and Unconquerable"

There were also battles in Missouri, Kentucky and Maryland. In addition the Confederacy conducted raids as far north as Ohio. There were also armed conflicts in the Indian Territory and the Southwest territories.
