While the inductees were standing in single file lines dressed only in their underware, or naked, going thru induction processing, usually held in US government leased hotels; a US Marine team of normally two NCOs would point to a man and say, "you, step over here, you're a marine." Or, "you two men, over here, you're going in the marines." Etc.
