steel was used in all the helmets however they were little good against stopping a rifle round even todays modern kevlar helmets can be penetrated by a ww2 era mauser rifle

There is a really cool website where you can get Lego World War 2 figures and weapons. The website is called BrickArms (see link below). They have unlimited weapons used in World War 2 and Lego figures during the War. I am not sure where to get replica uniforms. Maybe you should just search the web for ideas.

All combatants in WWII were supplied with steel helmets. But only the US and USSR steel helmets survived into the Vietnam War era; both the US and USSR steel helmet "DESIGNS" served in the Vietnam War.
