No they were not they were very intolerant!

They felt that the English Reformation had not gone far enough to purge practices associated with the Catholic Church. Puritans were the extremists of the protestant church along with similar European groups. They did not cooperate with Presbyterians in England and advocated for separation from all other Christians, in favor of churches under their control.
