Historians can learn about the life and teachings of Jesus from the gospels, which are accounts of his life written by his followers. These texts provide insights into his teachings, miracles, and interactions with others. While they are considered religious texts, historians can analyze them to understand the historical context in which Jesus lived and the impact of his teachings on society.

The gospels say that Pontius Pilate asked the Jews to choose between Barabbas and Jesus. Since Barabbas means 'Son of the Father', the gospel story portrays the choice as between one Son of the Father (Barabbas) and another Son of the Father (Jesus). By means of a play on words, we learn that the Jews chose the wrong Son of the Father.
The four books in the new testament are called book of the gospels.
We can learn a lot from his teachings but i think the main one is: How to live your life !
The Christian Scriptures, or 'new testament', also the Gospels. It's worth noting that the authors of these texts never knew Jesus and were not eyewitnesses to anything he did nor said. The Christian scriptures were written and compiled decades after the Romans had killed Jesus. It is worth noting that gospels that were more closely related to the actual teachings of Yeshua (Jesus) were destroyed by the Roman Church in order to protect their version of the story. Read about the Nag Hammadi texts and their history. The best evidence of the tampering with Truth done by the Roman Church is internal. Christians teach that one must read the Bible and pray for God's instruction. I learned a lot from doing just that and studying the link below comparing FIVE gospels about the teachings and life of Yeshua (Jesus).
The teachings of Christians range from many diffrent teachings that come from Jesus Christ and The Bible. The basis of who God the father, God the son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit is. Some teachings can be given by the Holy Spirit which is the powerful Person of God. Christians mainly teach on Salvation, Eternal life, and the charceter of the new man. The Holy Spirit has the ability to teach the indivisual who posses it. There are many teachings that come from Christ in the Gospels and parables of Jesus Christ. Google the teachings, Gospel, sermons, or parables of Jesus christ and learn for yourself. After all Jesus himself is the teacher and Lord. the bibke also explains the beginig of creation and the fall of man. Ultimately the bible is the resource to living a life in Christ that can lead you to eternal life.
You have it a little backwards my friend. The Bible is based on Jesus' teachings. Specifically the first four books of the new testament. Jesus refers to the old testament sometimes in his teachings but they were not based on them.
NO!! it is important to ALL who want to learn the truth.
The disciples immediately followed Jesus because they believed he was the Messiah and wanted to learn from him and spread his teachings.
The disciples were followers of Jesus in the Bible who played a key role in spreading his teachings. They were chosen by Jesus to learn from him and carry on his message after his death. The disciples traveled with Jesus, witnessed his miracles, and were instructed to share his teachings with others. They were instrumental in establishing the early Christian church and spreading the message of Jesus to different parts of the world.
A disciple is a student. All those that follow the teachings of Jesus and strive to learn from him are his disciples.
As long as you try to follow the teachings that you learn from the words of Jesus which are not necessarily those of the church you should be fine.

A:Because we are taught to rely on the gospels, most people are astonished to learn that we really know so little about what Jesus taught. We can certainly say that the Christian religion, in general, must reflect some of Jesus' teachings, but we could not say whether one denomination or another is closer in following his teachings. The Jesus Seminar, a theological research group, concluded that in the four canonical gospels and the Gospel of Thomas, only about 18 per cent of sayings attributed to Jesus were likely to have been said by Jesus himself, with nearly all the sayings that appear in John's Gospel seen as inauthentic. Nearly every teaching attributed to Jesus seems to have originated after his death. We can probably say that Jesus taught love of others and high moral values, but these are teachings followed by all religions.
