For the most part, organized religion has done everything within its power to maliciously obstruct the basic human rights of gays and lesbians with regard to marriage and otherwise. and what organized religions have failed to see is that heterosexuality is wrong and goes against god and his glory and everyone who loves another gender rather then their own has eternally damned their soul
The Romans believed in their religion because they were human and like everyone else in the world. All groups throughout history and prehistory had (and still have) their own religion and believed in their religions. You cannot have a religion if you do not believe in it.
