Cherokee, Seminole, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Creek(Muskogee).
All Indian tribes east of the Mississippi river were sent west of the Mississippi.
Jackson makes the claim that the removal of the 5 Major Native American Tribes and the Trail of Tears that followed was a necessary evil to protect the Natives from impending slaughter as white civilization would continue to take their land. Essentially, Jackson rationalizes the Trail of Tears by claiming the removal of the Indian Nations was the only way to save them from slaughter.
i donyt know !!!!!!!!!!!!11
The Cherokee Nation was one of the Five Civilized Tribes that resisted removal through armed conflict, notably during the Trail of Tears in the 1830s. They initially sought legal recourse, winning a Supreme Court case in 1832, but ultimately faced forcible removal by the U.S. government despite their efforts to negotiate and integrate. The resistance was marked by significant internal conflict and suffering among the Cherokee people.
No "case" led to the passage of the Indian removal Act; however 2 cases resulted from this act. Most important was Cherokee Nation VS Georgia 30 US 1, 5 (1831) (see links) and Worcester VS Georgia 31 US 515 (8 L.Ed 483) (1832).

I think it started because 5 Indian tribes wanted to keep there lands and not give them away for so called "promise of strange land in there territory" I am also doing a report on this too. Or whatevs. So my info may not be accurate. I recomend using History.com that's where I got my info.
The cherokee (along with other tribes) were relocated from southeastern US to the Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma) in which they have to travel long distance. Their homes were burned and their properties were destroyed. Farms were given to settler through Georgia Land Lottery. They were however promised 5 million dollar for the land. During the relocation, many Indians were exposed to disease, starvation and cold where 4000 out of 15000 Cherokee died. Some were killed along the way. There are some tribes like Oconaluftee, Cherokee from Nnantahala area and the ones who married with white who were allowed to stay.
Approximately 5% of land in Oklahoma is held in trust for Indian tribes. This land is primarily used for various purposes, including economic development, housing, and cultural preservation. The percentage can vary slightly depending on the specific definitions and classifications of land ownership.
