What activities do you do on Veterans Day?

You could visit family members who are veterans or you could visit a veterans hospital and donate items to our troops. You can also watch the ceremony for the tomb of the unknown soldier, or other veteran honoring events at 11:00 am.

As a veteran, I would say the best way to celebrate Veterans Day is simple. For one, just be thankful there are people out there that have gone and stood for you and our country. Also my personal opinion is just enjoy the pleasures, rights, and freedoms you have that we as veterans fought for. We don't expect any big thanks. Your going to work and living day to day is thanks enough in my opinion. So all in all to celebrate Veterans Day, do whatever you enjoy best: drink a beer, go fishing, spend time with friends and family, whatever it is that you enjoy most because those things are what we (or I personally) went to war for. So just be thankful and enjoy life. :)

In many communities that don't have a parade or other major celebrations, and lack a VFW post, you can usually find a few old vets gathered at a local war memorial or the local cemetery to pay homage to their brothers in arms.

You can visit hospitalized veterans and just visit and talk with them. There are many organizations that you could donate to, like VVA, AMVET, or VFW. I'm sorry, but I forget where this is and what this business is called, but once we delivered meals to veterans at a nursing home.

You should do two things on veteran's day. First pause for a moment of silence at 11:00 A.M. Second, hang an American flag on your front porch. This only applies if your an American.

Veterans Day is a holiday when citizens are expected to honor all those, dead and alive, who served in the US armed forces in times of peace and in times of war.
