Paul E. Williams was an American architect known for his contributions to mid-century modern architecture. He was the first African American member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the first black architect to receive the AIA's highest honor, the Gold Medal. Williams designed numerous iconic buildings, including the Theme Building at Los Angeles International Airport and the LAX Theme Building. His work helped shape the architectural landscape of Los Angeles and beyond.
