Modernism in literature is a movement associated with an emphasis on technique, growing out of the realist tradition. T.S. Eliot was perhaps the most important poet associated with the movement, while others such as Ezra Pound, Wallace Stevens and W.B. Yeats were also important. Fiction writers include Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, and James Joyce.
