The first stop Columbus made on his voyage in 1492 was at the Canary Islands. After departing from Spain, he anchored at the islands to rest and resupply his ships before continuing his journey across the Atlantic Ocean. So it really depends on what you mean by discovered, - the first people to settle there were the native peoples, the first person to name them was Christopher Columbus, and the first European peoples to settle there were the Danish West India Company.
