the idea that a government of our own is our natural right.
Thomas Hobbes was an English philosopher who lived from 1588 to 1679 CE. He was most notable for distinguishing the law of nature and the right of nature. The law of nature was a set of rules that told humans how to preserve themselves. The right of nature was a freedom to anything that seemed necessary for preservation.
One statement that is not true about John Locke and Thomas Hobbes is that they both believed that individuals had an innate right to rebel against unjust governments. In reality, while Locke argued that individuals had the right to rebel against governments that violated their natural rights, Hobbes did not advocate for rebellion and believed in a strong, centralized authority to prevent chaos and uphold social order.

Thomas Hobbes is known for his idea of the "social contract" and the belief that absolute monarchy is necessary to create and maintain order in society. John Locke, on the other hand, wrote about the concept of natural rights, including the right to life, liberty, and property, and the idea that government should be based on the consent of the governed.
john Locke said that peoplee were good, and that we should have natural rights such as "life, liberty, and property".and thomas hobbes thought all people were cruel, and mean people.John Locke favored Democracy, will Thomas Hobbles favored Mercantilism.
Both believed that all humans have the right to life, liberty, and property.
Thomas Hobbes believed in a strong central authority to maintain social order and prevent chaos; he argued that people are inherently selfish and need control. John Locke, on the other hand, believed in natural rights and that government's role should be to protect those rights; he upheld the idea that individuals have the right to rebel against an oppressive government.
Thomas Hobbes believed that citizens should have the right to self-preservation and the right to defend themselves in order to maintain peace and security in society. He also believed that citizens should have the right to transfer their individual rights to a sovereign ruler in order to establish social order and prevent a state of nature.

He had the government give the people peace and security.. He rejected the Divine Right of Kings and developed the phrase "Social COntract" to describe the relationship that people surrender some of their natural rights to a government in return security and peace.
According to Hobbes, every person has the natural right to self-preservation, including the right to defend themselves against harm. This is because in the state of nature, where there is no common authority, individuals have to rely on their own abilities to protect their lives and secure their well-being.
