Early decision is a binding admission process where students commit to attending a particular college if accepted, typically applying by a deadline in November. If admitted, students must withdraw applications to other schools and are often notified of their acceptance earlier than regular applicants. This option can be advantageous for students who are certain about their first-choice school, but it may limit their ability to compare financial aid offers from multiple institutions.
