American colonists were unhappy with British rule primarily due to taxation without representation and restrictions on their economic activities. The imposition of taxes, such as the Stamp Act and the Townshend Acts, angered colonists who believed they should not be taxed by a Parliament in which they had no representatives. Additionally, British trade regulations limited colonial trade with other nations, stifling economic growth and fostering resentment towards British control.

Tea tax, (Tea act)- British taxed the colonists on tea. Boston tea party, - Colonists dumping tea into the Boston Harbor Sugar act - BRitish taxed the colonits on sugar No taxation without representation- Is what the colonits called it when british taxed them unreasonably and didnt let them have a say in parliament. several reasons: 1)the Americans were ruled by the british, and were unhappy with the taxes that were being imposed on them by the british parliament. 2)European writers like jean Jacques Rousseau wrote books about how people should rule a country, and not a king or queen.this was known as the enlightenment. 3)the Boston massacre-American colonists were protesting against taxes, when british soldiers opened fire and killed 5 people. 4)the Boston tea-party-American colonists were unhappy with taxes on tea,so they disguised themselves as native Americans, and dumped all the tea into Boston harbour.as a result of this, the british parliament closed the port of Boston.

What experience did Captain Peters have that showed the colonists were unhappy with Loyalists?
The colonists responded by "interpreting" very loosely that this act did not give Britain the power to tax them.
OMG! WE LEARNED THIS IN HISTORY LAST WEEK! YAY IM HELPFULL! ok the colonists felt that since they couldnt elect anyone to parliment, that they shouldnt be taxed by them. but the british didnt care what the colonists thought, they tried raising the taxes in britian but that caused riots there so they felt safe taxing the colonists. but the colonists scared away the tax collectors so the king made an examlpe of Boston and sent a bunch of soldiers there and made a law saying that they could tax the colonists and that the colonies existed only to serve britain. this angered the colonists and that lead to the american revolution. all in all, they thought it was violating thier freedome rights =P

There were probably a number of reasons, depending upon the circumstances of the individual, but the main reasons were that the individual was not unhappy with the circumstances of his life and, as a British subject, felt a strong sense of loyalty to Britain and the king.
