The FBI would be under the Executive branch, the branch if government that is responsible for enforcing the law.
In the judicial branch
Yes.
The US President is the Commander and Chief of all US military forces.
Politics are a very important piece of what the FBI does, somewhat like the CIA. For example if you have a leader who is publicly in favor or puts legislation for the legalization of weed, or cannabis he can order that the FBI decimalize drug offenses, or he can take certain staff members out of the organization that do not agree with the policy's views. All of this falls under the checks and balances theory, all the other political branches check on each other. For example if your an American you know what's happening with the NSA etc... those organizations like the FBI,CIA, and the NSA rely on the other branches. if a law is found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court under the judicial branch they can demand the law be removed, or congress under the Legislative branch can demand that the FBI don't execute operations against the laws.
The Legislative Branch.
The FBI is part of the Department of Justice, which is part of the Executive Branch of the United States federal government.

Since the FBI is a part of the Judicial branch and the US is run by checks and balances, it's either th Executive branch (the president) or the Legislative branch (Congress). My best guess would be Congress.
The DOJ carries out the laws along with the FBI.
The FBI operates under the US Department of Justice. It is not a branch of government.
The president does not have direct control over the FBI. The FBI is part of the Department of Justice and operates independently from the executive branch. The president can appoint the FBI director, but the agency is meant to operate free from political influence.
executive branch
The executive branch can set a person free held by the FBI. The President can use his power of pardon and reprieve granted by the Constitution.
Executive branch. The federal law enforcement agencies, such as the FBI, the US Marshals, the Dea all fall under the Department of Justice, which is part of the Cabinet.
The CIA was NEVER a part of the FBI
The branch of government responsible for enforcing laws is the executive branch. In the United States, this branch is headed by the President, who is responsible for implementing and enforcing federal laws. The executive branch includes agencies such as the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Homeland Security, which are tasked with upholding and enforcing laws at the federal level.
