Viking boats i believe were called longboats, with a sort of weird swan shaped front and back. The vikings would sit and row in synchronisation at a fast pace, which is why they were superb invaders!
The longest boat in the world in the Knock Nevis which is 458 metres long.
depends on the size of the ship. A viking long ship would have 20 to 40 oars and it would have 1 man to an oar. But they did it in turns so nobody knows exactly.
Viking ships large and small were all made in the same way. Planks of timber, usually oak were overlapped and nailed together. The ships were made watertight by filling the spaces between the planks with tarred wool or animal hair. The ships were all the same long narrow shape and floated near the surface of the water. This meant that they could be used in shallow water.
viking long boats were shapes like a half oval
by using its sails and if theres no wind they use oars

Most Viking longships ranged from 20 to 30 meters in length. This allowed them to navigate both open waters and shallow rivers for their raids and explorations.

Don't think of the Vikings as travelling in a "ship" with covered decks or shelter... a viking ship was just an open boat - long and wide, admittedly, but totally exposed to the elements. A replica of a viking boat can be seen at the "Related Link" below.
3-masted Schooners and Viking Long Boats (or any oar powered war ships)
The vikings had several types of boats that had different designs. The design of the boat is based on what the boat was used for. The most popular and most depicted viking ship was the longship. These vessels were meant to carry troops across the ocean.
Viking ships were 15 to 35 meters long.
