Nobody uses "colours" for clothing - they use various types of material or animal products. It is wrong to assume that each native American tribe only dressed in a particular colour.

The Mi'kmaq people originally used moose hide, deer skin, seal skin and beaver furs for their breechclouts, moccasins, jackets and leggings. These were all tanned in the usual way, producing various shades of pale yellowish-brown for the hides and leaving the fur in its natural colour.

By the early 1800s this tribe had access to many types and colours of trade cloth and blankets from white traders. By the late 1800s the men were dressing exactly like white people of the time, reserving their native garments only for formal occasions.
