A great many benefited from slavery indirectly because of employment.

A very few benefited greatly as a direct result of the financing, ownership and the transportation of this commodity called Black Gold. Those few reaped huge profits and were able to amass wealth, power and influence. The Triangle Trade paid for a ship and all of the expenses in a single voyage. Three trips without incident and the ship's owner netted a Million in profits, the Captain and Crew could retire for life and ever one except their cargo came out a winner.

Some slavers bought their way into Royalty. A few found a rotten borough and obtained a Manor House and a seat in Parliament after only 18 months in the trade. Few were forced to stand in the dock or to pay for their crime.
