Effective as an 8mm pistol cartridge can be; as it fired the same round as the Type 14 Nambu. Took some understanding of the safety device, as the sear often was set off, if the safety wasn't on. Not nearly as produced as the regular Nambu pistol, and not nearly as attractive, which probably is why the pistol never really caught on in popularity.
Yoichiro Nambu was 94 years old when he died on July 5, 2015 (birthdate: January 18, 1921).
Zombies are not real but they if they were that 94 mm pistol would kill it
A katana, kyu gunto, or shin gunto Sword was the most desirable battlefield momento.A Type 4 or Type 14 Nambu semi automatic pistol was a choice find.A Type 94 automatic looked like hunk of junk, but was prized for its smaller size. The C96 German Mauser with stock drew a premium price. The Type 26 Revolver was a rare find. The Type 44 Cavalry Rifle and Type 97 Sniper rifle were prized but most would be forced to pick up the high production Type 38 all by Arisaka. Some contented themselves with the ghoulish practice of collecting gold teeth.
"Best" is a very vague term. However- the German P08 Luger was not well regarded as a combat weapon, and was replaced by Germany in 1938 with the P38. Britain used a rather low powered revolver that was sort of OK. The Russians used the Nagant revolver which no one liked, but rarely as a combat weapon. The Japanese handguns (Nambu) were more of a curiosity- and the type 94 pistol could shoot you if pressed on the wrong spot on the frame. The Italians used a decent design, but in a very weak cartridge. The best of the lot were the Canadians that used the Browning Hi-Power 9mm pistol, and the American 1911A1 .45 caliber pistol. Those are the only two still being made today.

The model 64 was nothing more than an upgraded model 94. Virtually any option you could get on a model 94 was also available on a model 64. The main exception being the cal. 219 zipper. Some older cal. that were available on the 94 could not be had on the 64, but by then they were probably not available on the 94 either. The model 64 came standard with special features that were only available at extra cost on a model 94. Pistol grip stocks and a 24" barrel were std. on a model 64 ( the 219 zipper had a 26" barrel). The main difference is that the 64 is issued standard in a rifle configuration and the 94 in a carbine configuration. It was probably cost effective for Winchester to do it this way. Model 64 were made in 2 different time frames 1933 to 1957 and again from 1972 to 1974. The later ones being in 30-30 cal. only. If you happen to have a 64 in the rare 219 zipper cal. get a body guard.
