When Smith arrived in Jamestown he found 37 men alive out of 107 that had first settled there. A lack of food, disease, a fort on swampy land and bad water were the problems he found. He took control of the colony and made the rule that if you didn't work you didn't eat. This proved very unpopular so after a while there someone tried to murder him. While he was sleeping they poured gunpowder over him and set it on fire. He was burned and was forced to return to England. He may have met Pocahontas while there, but the story about her saving his life didn't come out until 1624 in a book about him and Jamestown. There is no historical record of this having taken place and she was dead by 1617 and buried in England.
England sponsored captain John Smith's voyages.
Well if your talking about JamesTown then he made a new colony. He wanted to find gold in 1 of his voyages to though
Nope, that's exactly what I'm looking for, but I can't find any! Probably, if you just search Sir John Hawkins into Google, you'll find a map somewhere on the page. DO NOT USE WIKIPEDIA. WIKIPEDIA HAS NO MAPS FOR VOYAGES AND HAS LITTLE INFORMATION ON HIS VOYAGES.
John Smith did not discover New Hampshire; it was actually explored by Europeans earlier, with John Cabot being one of the first, in 1497. Smith, an English explorer, is more famously associated with the early exploration of Virginia in the early 1600s. However, he did map parts of New England during his voyages in 1614. New Hampshire's settlement began later, in the early 1620s.
Smith did not find the settlement area that became Jamestown. It was found by Captain Edward Wingfield.

Yes. Captain EJ Smith on Titanic was such a favorite of the White Star Line that he was on the maiden voyages for the Adriatic, the Majestic, the Baltic, the Olympic, and Titanic.
