The War of 1812 deviated a lot between the U.S. and Great Britian. None of the intents of belligerency was sermonized by the Treaty of Ghent, which established the status quo ante bellum. The Treaty of Ghent basically ended all quarreling between Britain and the U.S. and they remained tranquil for the rest of the nineteenth century and later became close allies with one another.
The Treaty of Ghent was signed by British and American representatives on December 24, 1814. This treaty ended the War of 1812.
