The 'Blue Period' is a time in the art world were Picasso painted dreary monochromatic scenes dominantly in blue with only hints of green or other colours This lasted for years, and his subject matter dealt mostly with prostitutes and other dreary, lowly specimens. Many attribute this to a time where Picasso was rather depressed, however this is not considered an art "movement" as Picasso was the only one to pursue these elements and characteristics.
