What did the children wear during the Battle of Hastings?

I Know that William of Normandy and his men wore chainmail and had helmets. They also had horses while the English didn't because they had to leave them behind in the North. I don't know what the English wore though and i need to find out soon!!!!

There would have been little difference between clothes used in ordinary life & in battle. There was some padded clothing & chain mail as well as leather, fur and other forms of fabric to defend against weaponry. Headwear was important to deflect swords and other weapons.

They wore pale couloured clothing as it was hard and expensive to get bold colours If someone was wearing bold coloured clothing they would have been rich
