My own feeling has always been that while the massive destruction and loss of life, and the subsequent epidemics of cancer are unfortunate, and I bear no ill will toward the people of Japan, it is still true that if Japan did not wish to be bomed by the US in 1945, they should not have bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941. The US has a right to defend itself.
