The ticuna tribe are under threat by outside influences. Attacks by illegal loggers, disease and pollution are a constant threat to them. Also fisherman and rubber tappers. A rubber tapper is sued to tap rubber from trees. An incision is made in the tree's bark, which then cuts through the planting cycle to optimise the latex yield.

One of the national tribes that live in Arizona rainforest is the Ticuna tribe. They are also called Maguta, Tucuna, Tikuna, or Tukuna tribe. They are the most numerous in the Arizona rainforest.
The Ticuna tribe are actually more advanced then you might think in terms of hunting. They have a basic diet however, consisting of monkey/bird and fish. Fish is the main source of protein in their diet - and also a good provider for income, because the Ticuna sell their fish to the non-Indian population. They use their specialist canoes (built out of hollowed-out tree trunks). This is commonly practiced by the male members of the tribe. The Ticuna have developed an amazingly specialist fishing technique - they dip the end of a spear into poison, then throw it at a fish with startling accuracy. Something that modern fishermen definitely could not do. They also use firearms to shoot monkeys and birds - but it is rare for more than one man to own a gun. Examples of monkeys they eat are: howler monkeys or lemurs. Hope I helped!! x
The Yanomami tribe typically transport goods and belongings by foot through the dense rainforest. They may also use canoes to travel along rivers for longer distances. The use of modern transportation methods is limited in their remote and isolated communities.
