Why did British leaders might have felt the colonist were not justified in their actions?

In the 1760s, Great Britain fought a long and expensive war with France to guarantee, among other things, the safety of its "subjects" in North America. The British Parliament felt that the colonists should help pay for that war. BTW, the arrogance and hubris shown in the debates in Parliament about the rebellion in America are eerily reminiscent of the debates in Congress about Vietnam and Iraq.

Explain you stopped horrified you were in a room you knew and did not know?

I stood frozen, a wave of confusion washing over me as I realized I was in a room that felt both familiar and foreign. The walls were adorned with memories that tugged at my heart, yet the furniture was arranged in a way I had never seen before. Shadows danced eerily in the corners, and an unsettling feeling crept over me, as if I were a ghost in my own past. It was a surreal blend of nostalgia and dread, leaving me questioning how I could feel so at home yet so utterly lost.
