Lageralteste has no common meaing in German. Lagermeans camp or warehouse, ältestemeans oldest. In the Nazi concentration camps I believe it meant a prisoner appointed by the Nazi guards as the senior 'trusty' of a camp, with a relatively privileged position, responsibility for the actions of the other prisoners, and authority to punish them.
