If you have a wide rim Anthony, the date will be almost touching the rim with only a very small space between them. Compare the 1979 wide rim to any other Anthony dollar and you will readily see the difference. If you see no difference then your is probably not a wide rim.

How much is the 1979 p mint mark with wide rim Susan B. Anthony one dollar coin worth?

About $20-30 retail. However, Susan B. Anthony dollars have next to no demand to collectors so I wouldn't be surprised if a coin shop isn't interested in buying it or gives you a low offer like $5 or so.

Are Susan B. Anthony dollars valuable?

Likely face value only, just very high grade uncirculated and proof coins have more than face values, none of the coins were struck in silver regardless of mintmarks or date. There is a variety of the 1979-P issue SBA coin referred to as a Wide Rim or Near Date type that does have more than face value

What is the value of a 1979 Susan B Anthony dollar coin?

One dollar unless it is in a Mint-packaged Uncirculated set or Proof Set. There were 600 million of these minted -- they will never be rare. If you got it in change, go ahead and spend it again. As a side note, there is no 1979 silver dollar. All Susan B. Anthony dollars are clad coins, with layers of cupro-nickel surrounding a copper core.$1. They're made of copper-nickel, not silver.

How much is a circulated 1979 susan b anthony silver dollar worth?

In all honesty, unless it is a proof, or is the near date variety (the date is almost touching the rim on them), the coins are in all actuality worth about $1 unless in the original mint packaging and then they might be worth a bit more. But really, collector demand for Susan B Anthony dollars are nearly non-existent, most collectors view them as ugly coins and few dealers will buy them unless they are in proof condition because they will just sit on the shelf. Yes, your uncirculated coins are probably "worth" $2-3, but since collector demand is so incredibly low for these coins, you most likely won't get it.

No U.S. one dollar coin is called a "Liberty" dollar. By the date 1979 your coin is a Susan B. Anthony dollar. The 1979 Wide Rim (near date) variety was only produced at the Philadelphia Mint so a "S" mintmark coin can't be a wide rim coin. Unless the coin is a high grade Mint State example it's just face value.

This is a variety that occurs on some of the 1979-P Susan B. Anthony dollars. It's also known as the near date variety. The wider rim makes it appear that the date is much closer to the rim than normal.
