The Indian Removal Act of 1830 primarily affected several Native American groups, including the Cherokee, Creek, Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw tribes. These groups faced forced relocation from their ancestral lands in the southeastern United States to designated Indian Territory west of the Mississippi River. The Act aimed to open up land for American settlers and agriculture, leading to significant cultural and social disruptions for the affected tribes. Additionally, it contributed to the broader context of American expansionism and the displacement of Indigenous peoples.
The Civil War primarily affected several groups, including soldiers from both the Union and Confederate armies, who faced combat, injuries, and death. Enslaved African Americans were significantly impacted, as they sought freedom and were ultimately liberated by the war's end. Additionally, civilians in the South endured economic hardship and social upheaval, while Northern industries and communities experienced changes due to the war effort. The conflict also had lasting effects on the relationships between different racial, social, and political groups in the United States.
Westward expansion significantly affected various groups, including Native American tribes, who faced displacement, loss of their ancestral lands, and violent conflicts. It also impacted settlers and immigrants seeking new opportunities, often leading to social and economic changes. Additionally, enslaved African Americans were affected as the expansion raised contentious debates over slavery in new territories, shaping the national discourse and contributing to tensions leading up to the Civil War.

The Whiskey Rebellion was a citizen revolt against a 1791 tax on whiskey. The reaction to the 1794 uprising in Pennsylvania demonstrated the determination of the US to enforce Federal Laws. The militias of several states, under the personal command of President George Washington, were used to end the insurrection. The tax on whiskey was bitterly and fiercely opposed by the settlers on the frontier from the day it was passed. Western farmers considered it to be both unfair and discriminatory, since they had traditionally converted their excess grain into liquor. Since the nature of the tax affected those who sold the whiskey, it directly affected many farmers. Many protest meetings were held, and a situation arose which was reminiscent of the opposition to the Stamp Act of 1765, before the American Revolution. Several groups were formed in opposition to the tax, and refused to pay it. Eventually the coercion of officials and private citizens prompted Washington to use military action.
