On September 5, 1605, a significant event in British history occurred when the conspirators involved in the Gunpowder Plot met to finalize their plans to blow up the House of Lords and assassinate King James I. This plot aimed to end Protestant rule in England by replacing it with a Catholic leadership. The conspirators, including figures like Robert Catesby and Guy Fawkes, gathered to discuss their strategies, leading to the infamous attempt that would later be discovered on November 5, 1605.
Guido Fawkes (Guy) in 1605 was close but never got the chance to bomb Parliament, he attempted to, but never succeeded as he was caught, then tortured (hung, drawn and quarted before he was burnt on his own pile of gunpowder, (although i suspect, he wasn't burnt on gun powder) & that is why we have a Guy on a bonfire at Guy Fawkes celebration, pleasant... huh? Check out wikipedia, they have all about him on it.
1605 CE was the year of the Gunpowder Plot. The Gunpowder plot was an attempt to assassinate James I and place a Catholic monarch back on the throne.
