Fukushima is the name of a prefecture in Japan, located to the east of the country, and also the name of its capital city. Written 福島 /fu ku shi ma/ it consists of two kanji meaning 'good fortune, blessing' and 'island' in order. "Island of wealth" would be a good interpretation.
