There are two different official crests- usually used as signs - not necessarily worn on costumes, in the field- associated with Jeanne D"arc. One has the blue shield Field with an upright sword a crown ( in some cases a ring-perhaps the brass ring used in medieval field exercises- before carnivals picked up the idea) and two Fleurs de Lis- the appliques are silver or white on a Blue field. a more modern variation is similar but the appliques are in Gold- this is not the traditional Johannic arms. Finally she may very well have worn a cross of Lorraine (probably on a pull-over vest ) fabric- right over her heart on her breastplate- that is a real sight to behold! The Cross of Lorraine is associated with Joan of Arc, French patriotism, and as you may have guessed, the Legion Etrangere. The Legion variant has a silver white metal Cross of Lorraine on a Turquoise ( signifying ocean water- hence Foreign wars) shield, It is a very neat heraldic device- used by the Foreign Legion.
