I believe that Portugal made what is now Brazil, one of their early colonial adventures.
We do not know much about Vasco de Gama's early life, but we do know he was born in Sines, on the southwest coast of Portugal. It is also thought he studied mathematics and navigation under Abraham Zacuto in the town of Evora, which is in Portugal. As I said, we do not know much about his early life.
