Embrasures and merlons!
An Embrasures are a space between the merlon, a merlon is the wall between the space!
So really it's a wall with a space in between it hahah!!
A solid portion between two crenels in a battlement or crenelated wall. An open space or notch between two merlons in a battlement or crenelated wall.
The term embrasure, in military architecture, refers to the opening in a crenellation or battlement between the two raised solid portions or Merlons, sometimes called a crenel or crenelle.
AnswerFrance. The Maginot Line (in use from 1932 to 1969) was a barrier in northern France, that was built to hold off (mainly) the German Army in case of attack. (EVERY country feared the German Army) It basically surrounded France from the rest of Europe - but had MANY, MANY faults. For starters - the Lufuwaffe simply flew over it!!! And the supply line was so poor - many of the installations simply ran out of ammunition!!! Although the fortifications of the Maginot line were based on very outdated World War I fortifications - some did hold the attacking German Army - but only for a few days.
Crenellations is on the top of the castle wall, and looks like a sawtooth pattern. The teeth are called Merlons, and the gaps between are called embrasures.
The teeth of a castle are referred to as "merlons," which are the solid parts of a battlement that alternate with "embrasures," or openings. These features were designed for both defense and architectural aesthetics, allowing defenders to shield themselves while providing a vantage point to observe and attack. The overall structure is known as a crenellation.
The gaps in fortification battlements are called crenels. These are the openings in the parapet wall that allow defenders to shoot at enemies while also providing cover. The sections in between the crenels are called merlons.
If he will not let you in, you must progress further on into the game.
Crenels and merlons are the parts of the battlement or parapet at the top of the walls of a castle. A parapet is a wall-like barrier at the edge of a roof, terrace, balcony or other structure. Where extending above a roof, it may simply be the portion of an exterior wall that continues above the line of the roof surface, or may be a continuation of a vertical feature beneath the roof. It becomes a battlement when portions are cut out to allow the discharge of arrows or other projectiles. The cut out portions are called crenels. The solid portions between the crenels are called merlons. When not shooting at an enemy, a soldier can take cover behind the merlons. When shooting, the soldier is at least protected by the part of the wall below the crenel so that only the upper part of the body is exposed during the shot. The merlons also protected the soldiers from arrows, etc. that might be launched from most angles other than straight-on.
They are used in medieval castles as protection from attackers. They're part of a wall that has gaps, so it looks kind of like up-down-up-down. The merlons are the teeth that stick up. Defenders can hide behind them before attacking the invaders to the castle. The crenels are the gaps between the teeth. Defenders stand between these gaps to attack invaders. Hope that helped!

The slits are simply called arrow slits or occasionally Balistraria. Sometimes the arrow slits are looking out of embrasures. Arrow slits were useful for protecting the castle as they were easy to fire out of but very, very hard to fire into. To find out more about embrasures click on the link below. a gun slit is where you put your bullets in the gun. ANSWER A gun slit is an embrasure in the wall of a fortification (bunker, blockhouse, breastwork etc) through which a gun, a cannon can fire. There are direct or oblique embrasures.

Merlon's house is on the 2nd floor. It is the blue one with weird sky designs and a spinning roof
Crenellations, also called battlements, are the defensive structures found on many castles. They consist of merlons (the higher parts which were used to hide behind) and crenels (the gaps you can use to shoot through).
