today, blimps are often used for advertisments, since they move slow enough to be read easily by people on the ground and are big enough to write on. I beleive they are sometimes used by TV crews as well as an alternative to helicopters, since they are larger, can carry more equipment, and, like helicopters, can linger around areas of interest.
blimps (or airships) used to be used for passenger transport, like airplanes, although I am unsure if this is still the case.
during the world wars, Germany experimented with using blimps as motherships to launch fighters from the air without a runway. It worked, but the blimps themselves were big, slow moving, easy targets and could easily be shot down by just about any plane carrying a machine gun. additionally, they could only carry one or two planes at a time, and the cost far outweighed the benefits.. the project was discontinued.

The "doping" of the outer layer of the blimp was EXTREMELEY flammable. The Blimps back then were NOT grounded...Therefore, when they flew it over, after the storm, the static electricity sparked scortching the whole outer layer before the blimp actually landed...That's why the frame didnt catch on fire until the blimp hit the ground....

A blimp propeller spins in a circular motion, creating thrust that helps propel the blimp forward. The propeller is typically mounted at the front or rear of the blimp and its rotation can be controlled to change the direction of the blimp's movement.
Probably the blimp. Unless the blimp is a tiny toy, or the textbook is really huge.
