Healthcare is The Recression Proof Industry?
The recession proof industry is no doubt the health industry.
Jobs in the medical sector are expected to rise over 20% over
current levels by the year 2015, and as baby boomers continue to
age and need healthcare, this number is expected to grow even more.
The Department of Health represents one of the most formal types of
job within the health industry. It is also the job that requires
the most training and schooling in order to succeed.
Although it does require more formal training to hold a
Department of Health position, it can be much more lucrative as
well as secure because it is connected to the government. Although
medical professionals in the private sector can make more, it is
few and far between, as opposed to Department of Health positions,
which are paid very highly across the board.
The positions with in the Department of Health are quite varied.
You can gain a position as a medical administrator or specialize in
a medical discipline if you are a doctor, or you can be a
researcher performing tests for new drugs before they hit the
market. There really is room for everyone to succeed within the
Department of Health.
Many people take jobs within the Department of Health while they
go to school for their PhD or work on their doctorate thesis.
Although the jobs in this department are quite formal, they are
also somewhat flexible when compared to other government jobs of
the same ilk.
There are a great deal of regulations which the Department of
Health has to deal with. The most forward of these is the frequent
drug testing of Department of Health employees. In some divisions
of the Department of Health, they do consider cigarettes a drug, so
you should not be a chronic smoker if you plan to work at the
Department of Health. Being caught with drugs in your system while
working at the Department of Health can lead to immediate
dismissal, and has been the case in many high profile cases.
