What is the brief history of Bayawan City?

Bayawan City is a part of old tulong accdg to our old niegbor in Kimba, Lazi Siquijor. They used to go the old tulong for fishing and adventure. accdg. to iyo Ibok which the common people called him that the location of the present Byawan City is a swamp area with deed water and it is dagarous to venture as times goes by that swampy area are covered by soil carried by rain from the hinter land. It is occupied by natives coming from the nieghboring places of Malaysia and indunesia. there was a storey tha that when one of the natives die they attack the church during its Mass and killed all the people inside the church. The killing is on time where the priest burn incense to purefy the place before offering mass the Bisayan called it Bayaw. TRhat is where Bayawan got it name.
