The Catholic Church based on the teachings of Jesus believes in loving God above all else.

But in order to love God Catholics believe based on Jesus' teachings, that to love God they must love all of Gods creation, especially human-beings which are sacred.

So the Catholic Church says that we must help others by putting ourselves last and serving all people no matter the race or religion, and by doing so Catholics do it for the love God.
