Romans were good inventors, but they also took technologies from other civilizations and improved it. They have influenced us in agriculture, Metallurgy and medicine (they did great discoveries in surgery). They have improved the provision of clean water in cities through aqueducts. They have invented sewers. Romans invented the "Insulae" (sort of ancient "skyscrapers" where people lived. The highest "Insulae" that archeologist found is eight storeys high. (That is high for these times))
