The age of majority is 18. At 17 you will need your parents' permission, or legal emancipation. Emancipation is apparently an easier process in Louisiana than in some states. Not legally. The legal age of majority for the state is 18. Parents of a minor who leaves the family home against their wishes can petition the superior circuit court for an order of requisition to have said minor returned to their custody. Once the court order is presented to authorities the minor can be taken into custody and returned to the family home or remanded to a juvenile facility to await a disposition hearing in a juvenile or family court. The legal age of majority for Louisiana is 18. You have to be emancipated, which you must have parental consent to do. If you are being mentally/emotionally abused, physically abused, or if your parents' living arrangements are unstable, you can file for emancipation. But be careful! You can't just say you're being abused if you aren't. If the court finds the charges against your parents to be fabricated, you can be charged with lying to the court and filing false charges.

Body Piercing facilities are inspected by the local health protection and inspection office and are licensed by the local city hall business licensing department. Listed in the yellow pages under heading of "Body Piercing" and or "Tattoos". All Body Piercing and Tattoo studios have age limits set by the licensing agency so age limits can vary from town to town and city to city. Prices for piercings can also vary from shop to shop as well as the requirements for parental consent. Your best bet is to call your local city hall business licensing office and ask about age requirements for your area. Then call the local studios listed and ask about shop policies and prices. la Dee da.
In LA County, you must be 18.
definitely a stud, they're easier to sleep in, talk on the phone, and they cant be easily ripped out, accidently, you can get much more sizes, shapes and colours, that's why the peircer will recommend a stud, usually a la Bret.
I heard a rumor that the legal driving age in LA, CA was being changed to 18, is this true? If so, what age group will this start to effect?

Body Piercing Guidelines or "I want a piercing, now what"All Body Piercing studios are regulated and work under regional and local health and city licensing regulations. What you may want may not be legal in your area so call and check with your local studios.Age limits can vary from city to city and state/province to state/province, contact your local body piercing studios (under the yellow pages "Body Piercing" ) they will tell you what the age limits are for your area.Identification is aways needed (Birth certificate, Student card, Drivers license) Parental consent is consent from the legal parents (Mother or Father). Grand parents, Sister, Brother, Second Cousin twice removed doesn't cut it sorry. Unless they are your legal guardians assigned by the courts and have documented proof or this, it just won't work.Prices for piercings vary from shop to shop and city to city. Be sure you phone and ask them what the total price is including any *aftercare solutions they may try to sell you (* Professional body piercing studios won't try to sell you aftercare solution, they will recommend cleansers and soaps but that's it if you want it they will sell it but they will not force you to buy it.)Do your research, check these places out and find a studio that you are comfortable with, talk to the piercer and discuss you wishes. If at any time you feel like you are being ignored or rushed leave, find somewhere else. Good shops will be busy, but they will also want you to book your appointment, this way they have their full attention on you not everyone else who is asking questions (that's a good thing).
Usually they take what is called a piercing gun and they will clean the ear, then mark where you want it, if it is satisfactory they will place a piercing in the gun put it on you're ear and pull the trigger. It doesn't hurt much more than a hard pinch, but remember the higher you're piercing is the more it will hurt.
