lol i got two tattoos in prison. technically you are to receive written disciplinary action which, if you receive several, can lead to an extension in your sentence but that hardly ever happens because the guards know they hurt you more by searching everyone elses cell, taking their drugs and tattoo machines, then telling them its because you got caught getting a tatto. so don't get caught with fresh ink in prison.
