Have you ever read through the Ten Commandments? You will find that there is a shocking similarity between them and the laws we follow today. The U.S. doesn't necessarily follow a specific religion, but we do follow the same morals and values of the Old Testament (without the sacraficing and strict policies, of course). It is like an outline to our rules of life.
