Best Answer

The best known disease of the middle ages, because of the destruction it caused, was the Black Death.

Other diseases spread by vermin were problems, typhus being one.

Water borne diseases, such as typhoid fever and dysentery, were problems.

Small pox was a terrible scourge, and it killed many people.

There were no antibiotics, so any disease that we might consider a mild problem could kill a person. People died from infected pimples and blisters.

Surprisingly, the people of the middle ages were rather clean, because they believed cleanliness was next to godliness. But they had no clue when it came to the causes of diseases.
