nobody knows

---------

Nobody knows for sure but we can be pretty sure he retraced the voyage of Bjarni Herjulfsson. Bjarni saw North America but did not go ashore. Leif did, at Helluland, Markland and Vinland. He over wintered at Vinland and returned to Greenland in the spring.

How did leif erickson navigate?

leif erikson was a norwiegen explorer (c. 970 - c. 1020) who discovered Vinland (Modern day Greenland). Like most Vikings of his period he probably travelled by Viking longship. No idea what that one is talking about. ^^ Leifur Eríksson or Leifur the Lucky. Had a father called Eríkur the Red (Eric the Red, in full English) Who was made outlaw in Norway and moved to Iceland. In Iceland he had a son called Leifur. Eríkur was also made outlaw in Iceland, so he sailed away and Eiríkur found Greenland not Leifur. However his son Leifur sailed from Greenland to Vinland which is in Canada. Leifur was born around 980 in Iceland. The area that Leifur found is now call Newfoundland. It was around the year 1000 he found it. Give and take one year. He sailed with a ship type called "Knarr" carries 20-30 people and could carry up to 24 tons of cargo. Knarr was used to sail between Iceland, Greenland, Norway, British Isle... almost anywhere in the Atlantic Ocean. However it was mostly used as Merchant ships. Longships are made to sail in shallow waters cause they only need one meter depth of water and they could turn around without turning the boat around. Those sailed from Sweden through Russia to Istanbul.

What was Leif Erikcson trying to do?

Leif Erikson was tying to take over the world with his cronies, so he sailed to Guadalupe and teamed up with the League of Super Evil and started burning children and kicking puppies.However...Baman and Piderman came to the rescue, yelling their heroic battle cry, "I come over to house!!" and fought an amazing battle with the evil ones. It was a long and tiring fight lasting over 9000 hours, but they triumped with their secret weapon, the Rick Roll, and vanquished the maniacal Scandinavian. Erikson was then punished for his evil intentions by being forced to watch/listen to Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Twilight, and screeching noises until he puked up rainbows. That, my curious friend, is the story of Leif Erikson.
