Good question. Chivalry comes from the french word for horse riding. It is also where we get the word cavalier. So Chivalry used to mean some one who was good at horse riding/combat. So Chivalry does not really exist as some written code like say Bushido did. If I had to define what it chivalry was. It was more or less what you lord told you it was or what people found "desirable" in a knight. Think "oh this knight is real brave courageous and loyal to his lord he is Chivalrous".
