Every president since George Washington has had some inclination towards decimating the American Indian populations, most notably amongst them are Andrew Jackson and his infamous Trail of Tears (1838-39) where over 4,000 Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and Seminole Indians (to become known as the Five Civilized Tribes) from Georgia, Virginia, Alabama, North Carolina and Florida died when they were removed in a forced march beginning in spring through a hot dry summer onwards into a brutally cold winter and forced to walk over 800 miles to what is now Oklahoma. Abraham Lincoln would later hang 38 Santee Sioux in Minnesota for the crime of protecting their homelands while Andrew Jackson was honored for his service to the American people some years later by emblazoning his image on the twenty dollar greenback.
